Meet the Staff

Dr. Anders graduated from Louisiana Tech University with a Bachelor of Science in Biology. He attended Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, TN where he earned the degree of Doctor of Optometry. Dr. Anders set himself apart with the honor of being selected as "Who's Who Among American Colleges and Universities" at both Louisiana Tech and Southern College of Optometry. 

Dr. Anders received in-depth optometric training through internships at The Eye Center at Southern College of Optometry (Memphis, TN), the Alexandria VA Medical Center (Pineville, LA), and Bossier Family Eye Care (Bossier City, LA).  These internships were focused in the following areas: 

• Primary Eye Care
• Standard and Specialty Contact Lenses
• Pediatrics and Binocular Vision
• Low Vision and Rehabilitation
• Treatment and Management of Ocular Disease
• Minor Surgical Procedures

A native of Winnsboro, LA, Dr. Anders is following in the footsteps of his late father, Dr. David R. Anders, OD.  After finishing his optometric education and training, Dr. Anders and his wife, Ashleigh, decided to make their home in Ruston, where they met while studying at Louisiana Tech. They are proud parents to three beautiful children, Lily, Nolan, and Mary Ellis.

Dr. Anders is a licensed in the State of Louisiana to practice the full scope of optometry including advanced therapeutics and advanced procedures, and he is currently accepting new patients. Call our office today to schedule an appointment with Dr. Anders.

Tayla serves us and our patients as our Insurance/Front Desk Coordinator by overseeing  the daily schedule, insurance verification/billing, patient correspondence, referrals, and anything else that is thrown her way. 

A native of Ruston, Aujani has been a part of our staff since the spring of 2021 and serves as one of our technicians. Aujani works directly with patients to gather/review medical history, obtain vitals, pre-exam testing, and perform diagnostic testing/imaging. With multiple years of shift management under her belt, Aujani has proven to be a strong link in our chain.

McKenzie (temporarily) comes our way from around Natchitoches, LA to attend Louisiana Tech where she studies Biology with plans to pursue a career in a healthcare profession. McKenzie works directly with patients to gather/review medical history, obtain vitals, pre-exam testing, and perform diagnostic testing/imaging. McKenzie brings a positive mindset with her wherever she goes!

Kyra grew up in Tullos, LA and joined our staff in January 2024. Kyra works directly with patients to gather/review medical history, obtain vitals, pre-exam testing, and perform diagnostic testing/imaging. Along with her time in the exam rooms, Kyra also helps manage nearly all aspects of our contact lens ordering. We appreciate everything she brings to our practice!

Lily joined our staff in Spring of 2022 to serve our patients as the overseer of all things optical and contact lens. Lily's optical experience began in 2017, and she is an ABO (American Board of Opticianry) Certified Optician. Lily came to Ruston from Texarkana, AR and has made her home here in Ruston. We're love having Lily as a part of our team!
